Producing Documentaries To Inspire Change

This workshop will address technical challenges as well as thematically combine wildlife filming, travel, and the latest in environmental science and the wisdom of incorporating local communities in filmmaking. The workshop will interrogate this topic from two angles: 1. Producing films for local communities to encourage government and industry to restore landscapes and repair environmental damage thereby rebuilding whole societies. 2. Creating impactful television series for mainstream networks that entertain audiences but also deliver environmental and wildlife conservation messages. Peter Von Puttkamer, a Canadian filmmaker, will lead the workshop. He has over 35 years of experience in producing and directing award-winning specials and series. His work has been seen on platforms such as Discovery, BBC, Sony Pictures, National Geographic, PBS, Animal Planet, History Channel, and CBC. He is a 4-time Emmy Judge and has been featured 5 times in The American Cinematographer
